Bridget Hayes is your new favorite artist. Residing in Indianapolis, Hayes is primarily an illustrator, however she also has experience with painting and sculpting. Her body of work invites curiosity, absurdity and personal reflection. In her art, she explores her sexuality, biracial identity, fears and dreams, and stories that inspire her. Her style is reflective of modern animation with a surrealism twist that still finds a way to be grounded in some reality.

She specializes in watercolor and acrylic paintings, digital art via Procreate and Adobe, single line contour drawings, abstractions, and animations. While she understands that it’s important to use one’s art to speak on larger issues, Hayes enjoys infusing humor in her craft. She is influenced by the work of Danny DeVito, Caravaggio and Bryan Lee O’Malley.

Her work has been featured in NUVO Magazine, the Murphy Building’s First Friday show, and Gluestick Zine Fest. She also designed the labels for the tea company, Blended By The Stars. She currently attends Herron School of Fine Art and Design at IUPUI. Her major is Drawing and Illustration and she anticipates her graduation to be Summer of 2025. Hayes is currently working on a few different projects, including a graphic novel series about her character Raccoon Girl. She hopes that by using comedy in her practice, it will make viewers feel less alone and more connected to others.
