Everyone should have a say in the future of downtown
South Downtown Connectivity Vision Plan
Mayor Hogsett and the City of Indianapolis’ South Downtown Connectivity Vision Plan envisions a safer, more equitable, resident-focused district that will serve as the blueprint for dynamic connectivity in all of Downtown.
Improving overall connectivity and pedestrian safety is a signature component of Mayor Hogsett’s Downtown Resiliency Strategy. We believe a safer, more walkable Downtown better supports its current and future residents, its visitors (both locally and nationally), and those who work in the district, even if just 3 days a week! And a vibrant, bustling Downtown Indy creates an environment where small, locally-owned businesses can thrive!
The Connectivity Vision Plan weaves together exciting projects already underway in Downtown (Cultural Trail expansion, Bicentennial Unity Plaza at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, many others) with the many planned (City Market housing, Convention Center expansion, others) and funded (Market Street improvements, improvements to the Union Station underpasses, others). Our goal is to create a safe, cohesive and walkable experience for Downtown Indy residents, workers, and visitors.
