Plainfield, IN — The Town of Plainfield, in partnership with cultural arts organization GANGGANG, is proud to announce the public unveiling of We Are Interwoven, a new large-scale public artwork by multidisciplinary artist Andrea Myers. The celebration will take place on Tuesday, December 9, at 2 pm at the Council Chambers located at 206 W. Main Street, Plainfield, IN 46168.

Created through a deeply community-centered process, We Are Interwoven is a meditation on collective care, safety, and belonging. Materials incorporated into the artwork were gathered through a public donation drive and a community painting workshop held during the summer of 2025 and organized by GANGGANG. Each fabric piece was contributed, painted, or prepared by members of the Plainfield community.

Together, these contributions form a shared tapestry. The work reflects the many hands, stories, and identities that shaped it, honoring the role textiles have historically played in symbolizing protection, home, and connection. By bringing these associations into a public space, We Are Interwoven invites viewers to consider the ways individual gestures form the foundation of community identity.

“Public art is most powerful when the community helps build it,” said artist Andrea Myers. “This piece is a celebration of Plainfield’s commitment to connection and care.”
