Activating Indianapolis' creative economy

Indianapolis in the Global Spotlight

Indianapolis hosted the NBA All-Star game February 16-18, 2024. GANGGANG is proud to have worked alongside the Indiana Pacers, Indy Arts Council, and Indiana Humanities as co-chairs of the Arts and Culture Committee. Together, we integrated the arts into NBA All-Star weekend at unprecedented levels and uplifted Indianapolis-based artists and creative entrepreneurs. All-Star weekend, our work could be found at Tip-Off Thursday night, and Friday through Sunday in Indy’s Home Court.

Tip-Off

Tip-Off

Ideated and creative-directed by GANGGANG, the first ever NBA All-Star Tip-Off was a full-scale production designed to celebrate Indiana’s unique connection to basketball, arts, and culture. More than 150 Indy-based creatives and performers, including the historic Crispus Attucks cheerleaders, piloted this cultural experience.

  • 5,000 attendees
  • Hosted by Mike Epps and Tamika Catchings, with appearances by Tyrese Haliburton, Jermaine O’Neal, Larry Bird, T-Pain, and more
Cultural Corridor

Cultural Corridor

The Cultural Corridor consisted of three repurposed locations along Washington Street, including the former Pearings cafe, which is now permanently home to Plaid & Pearls Coffee. The Cultural Corridor centered creative entrepreneurs that work in central Indiana everyday and helped to develop an appetite for risk-taking within the arts ecosystem in central Indiana.
